Revela Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Summary

Revela is an open-source presentation editor that runs in your browser. It has no servers of its own that receive your presentations or data: your work is stored in your browser and only leaves it when you ask (saving to Google Drive, sharing, collaborating, using AI…). There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.

What is stored in your browser

Your presentations, settings, your name (if you type it to comment, collaborate or sign) and, if you sign, a signing key that cannot leave the browser. They are kept in the browser's local storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) and you can delete them at any time by clearing the site's data.

Google Drive and your Google account

If you choose to connect Google Drive, Revela asks for your permission through Google with the drive.file scope. With it, Revela can only see and change the files it creates or that you explicitly open with Revela; it cannot see the rest of your Drive. It also asks for drive.install, which only lets Revela appear in Drive's “Open with” and “New” menus. If you sign in, Revela may receive your name, email address and profile picture only to show which account you are using.

Revela's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Features that talk to other services (only if you use them)

Children

Revela can be used in schools. It collects no data for profiling or advertising. When a school uses it with students, the school decides which accounts and services are connected.
