FM Lab (Francisco Mesas Cervilla), Barcelona, España.

6.1.c RGPD).

Equipos, centros educativos y Moodle

Videollamadas (Pro)

Revela Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Summary

Revela is an open-source presentation editor. Without an account (the open edition, or the official one without signing in), your presentations stay in your browser and only leave it when you ask. With a Revela account (the official edition at revelaslides.com and the desktop app), Revela's server keeps what your account, AI credits, payments and cloud presentations need, as explained below. There are never ads, data sales, people analytics or tracking cookies.

Controller

FM Lab (Francisco Mesas Cervilla), Barcelona, Spain. Contact: the form at fmesasc.com or github.com/fmesasc/revela/issues. See the legal notice.

What is stored in your browser

Your presentations, settings, your name (if you type it to comment, collaborate or sign) and, if you sign, a signing key that cannot leave the browser, in the browser's local storage. You can delete them at any time by clearing the site's data.

Your Revela account (official edition)

You sign in with Google. Revela's server keeps your Google identifier and email, your sessions (only a fingerprint of each, with its dates: 30 days on the web, 90 in the desktop app), your plan, credits and their movements, the list of your cloud presentations and of those shared with you, and your team if you belong to one. Purpose: providing the service you ask for. Legal basis: the contract you accept when creating the account (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) and our legitimate interest in protecting the service from abuse (Art. 6.1.f). Kept while you have the account; you can download it all or delete the account yourself in My account ▸ Your data.

Cloud and shared presentations

Presentations saved to Revela's cloud are stored with their owner, the people with permission and the link's permission; the last ten versions are kept. If you share with someone, their email is kept to give them access. Pro statistics show the owner how often and how long each slide is seen, with a random identifier made by the viewer's browser — no email, IP address or browser data.

Built-in AI

What you ask the AI goes through Revela's server to OpenRouter and the chosen model, which process it to answer. Revela's server does not keep that content; it only records what it cost, to deduct your credits. Revela does not use it to train models, and for text it asks OpenRouter to use only providers that neither store nor train on what is sent.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Revela never sees or stores your card details; it receives Stripe's signed notice and keeps your Stripe customer id to manage the subscription. Stripe keeps invoices as the law requires.

Teams, schools and Moodle

Teams keep the team's name, each member's email and role, invitations, brand kit and templates; admins see their members' emails. When a school uses Revela through Moodle or another LTI platform, Revela receives a student identifier and name for the activity and sends the grade back; the school is the controller of its students' data and Revela processes it on its behalf. Schools can request the data processing agreement through the contact page.

Video calls (Pro)

Video and sound travel encrypted through Cloudflare's Realtime service between the people in the call. Nothing is recorded or stored.

Google Drive and your Google account

If you choose to connect Google Drive, Revela asks for your permission through Google with the drive.file scope. With it, Revela can only see and change the files it creates or that you explicitly open with Revela; it cannot see the rest of your Drive. It also asks for drive.install, which only lets Revela appear in Drive's “Open with” and “New” menus. If you sign in, Revela may receive your name, email address and profile picture only to show which account you are using.

Revela's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Features that talk to other services (only if you use them)

Providers and international transfers

Revela uses Cloudflare (hosting, server, video calls), Google (sign-in, Drive if you connect it), Stripe (payments) and OpenRouter with the chosen model provider (built-in AI). Some are in the United States; transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and storage

Only a technical session cookie when you sign in to the official edition (needed for the service you ask for, so it requires no consent), plus the browser storage for your presentations and preferences. No advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.

Your rights

You may access, rectify, erase, port, object to or restrict the processing of your data — most of it yourself in My account ▸ Your data; for the rest, use the form at fmesasc.com. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Children

You must be at least 14 to create a Revela account. Younger people can use Revela without an account or through their school (teams and Moodle), which decides on and is responsible for its students' accounts.

Security, changes and contact

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), sessions are stored only as fingerprints, permissions are checked on the server for every operation, and link-shared presentations are encrypted in your browser. If this policy changes, this page will be updated with its date. Contact: fmesasc.com or github.com/fmesasc/revela/issues. Source code: github.com/fmesasc/revela.
